SLS and What You Should Know

SLS stands for sodium lauryl sulfate. This is an ingredient that you should avoid whenever possible.

Sodium lauryl sulfate is found in many household and industrial products. It is found in floor cleaners, car wash soaps, engine degreasers, tootepaste, laundry detergent, shampoo, shaving foam, body washes, bubble bath, facial cleansers, and more! It is being used so much today. It is one of the top ingredients.

Sodium lauryl sulfate dries your skin out by stripping your protective oils, which causes skin and eye irritation. It has also been thought to cause canker sores.

So why is this ingredient being used often? It's a filler, creates lather, and is inexpensive.

Products containig this ingredient are used to clean the floors of auto body garages, so why are we using this on our hair, face, and body? If you are health conscience, then why would you use products that contain sodium lauryl sulfate?
